We were walkin’ up that old dirt road
Covered in mud from head to toe
When daddy saw us, he couldn’t help but laugh
We were partners in crime, two of a kind
You in front, with me right behind
Living up to our nicknames this and that

And I look at our pictures every now and then
You were more than a brother. You were my best friend
You taught me so much. Those days went by so fast

It’s been 20 years now that you’ve been gone
I got married and moved to Tucson
We have two little kids and a big brown dog named Max
Life’s been good. I feel really blessed
Wish you were here. I think you’d be impressed
to see your nephew swing our old baseball bat.
