About This Song

I wrote these lyrics when i was heartbroken and everything behind me and every place i went felt like i was leaving a trail of pieces of my broken heart. After much conversation with God, found a place of contentment and knew it was time to shake off this dusty diamond and walk away!

What is a dusty diamond? Well its all of us we’re all diamonds and we may collect dust at times. The important thing is to shake off the dust and move forward.

The saying go chasing stones while you had a diamond all along... motivated this song. He sure did just that.

Never try to make yourself a priority to someone because if you’re not you likely never will be- loving someone who diesnt love you back is like hugging a porcupine!

Hi, Amie!
I just emailed you a full review, as you requested.  But I’ll just say here that I think the title is very cool!  Intriguing, pulls me in, good image, makes me want to hear what the song is about!
God bless,
Brent

Dusty Diamond:

My heart grew strong in Oregon,
in the homegrown sun,
My heart fell wild in South Dakota,
in Sicca Hollow,
I left my broken heart in the Idaho panhandle,
and little pieces all over Montanas tiny towns,
I can’t run away,
nor could I make him stay,
so I got content and prayed,
and this is all I have to say,
go on chasing stones,
Im tired of trying to find a place in your throne,
I’ve tried and cried,
stretched my arms so wide,
and found my own way,
Its time to shake
off this dusty diamond,
and walk away,
It’s not easy forgetting all these places,
middle of the cornfield honeys place,
and the cabin with the carved log,
Augusta waterfall,
Wisdom Pioneer Lodge,
but most of all our home
our land, and our plans,
but I couldn’t Make him stay,
So i got content and prayed,
and this is all I have to say,
go on chasing stones,
I’m tired of trying to find a place in your throne,
I’ve tried and cried,
stretched my arms so wide,
and found my own way,
It’s time to shake
off this dusty diamond,
and walk away
So go on chasing stones,
and this dusty diamond will walk away
