This song is Country with a small pop influence as well

Your arrangement has a really nice singer-songwriter feel, but I think more Pop than Country.

I like the feel
I think it’s country all the way.
nice hearing your delivery, sweet
Not sure about All of the lyric, But it’s a great start

Remember that night we were front porch swinging
High school dreaming
Told you I’m leaving
I thought I knew best
Seemed life in the West
Had that endless summer feeling
Now ev’ry Gold Coast night I’m hometown dreaming
And all I’m thinking
Is my head sinking
In your gray pillow
And now I know
You’re my top down ride in the salty breeze
Sunset barefoot on the beach
The golden road that leads me home
Where I can explore ya
You’re my West Coast dream in Savannah, Georgia
Softer than a white magnolia
You’re my life, my dream and I just wanna hold ya
You’re my California
You're my California
I remember the feel of your blond curls
Your sun kissed swirls
These bleach blond girls
Got nothing on you
Ev’rything you do
Got that down home comfort feeling
Now the palm trees in my rear view are fading
And all I’m chasing
Is us embracing
And our lives together
Now you’re my forever
You’re my top down ride in the salty breeze
Sunset barefoot on the beach
The golden road that leads me home
Where I can explore ya
You’re my West Coast dream in Savannah, Georgia
Softer than a white magnolia
You’re my love, my dream and I just wanna hold ya
You’re my California
Staring in your deep blue eyes
Is paradise I realize
Don’t need the West
Cause where we rest
Your arms in mine
I’m on Pacific Time
Now we got a little soil and a family
Our dog JD
A magnolia tree
And when the stars paint the sky
Your name’s in lights
You’re my top down ride in the salty breeze
Sunset barefoot on the beach
The golden road that leads me home
Where I can explore ya
You’re my West Coast dream in Savannah, Georgia
Softer than a white magnolia
You’re my love, my dream and I just wanna hold ya
You’re my California
You’re my California
You’re my California
You’re my California

Love it, Tom. Nicely written song. The lines all flow and sing smoothly. The recording and production sounds really good….Nice rhyme with explore ya/California….The only line I wasn’t totally sure about was the “I’m on Pacific Time”. If you’re back in Savannah, then you said goodbye to pacific time, but I also see that holding her feels as good as California and puts you back to that great feeling of life in pacific time. I wouldn’t change it. It works and if anything, it sounds good…. Really nice job. Can’t wait to hear what you’re next song sounds like. Thanks for sharing, and good luck with this song.
