I wrote this one with Jason Wilkes and Robby Purser.
Is it progressive country? Or pop with some country influence? And does that even matter much these days?
Yeah I hear it as pop more than country except for the voices which makes it country..great point too Brent “does it even matter that much these days” There is an awful lot of pop coming out of Nashville these days of course I’m rather old school..very nice though and creative as well

Good uptempo pop country! It definately jells with what I hear on the Pop country channels. I’m more of an Americana/Alt -Country writer so I may not have the best advice but I do like the song.

I like the twist on the star thing, and beat/groove is obviously catchy/hooky, But the way the ends of words that normally are not accented are accented grates at me. BonNEE, JacKEE, etc. Ok so I’m a dinosaur, proud to be one, card carrying. But I just can’t go along with this pronouncing things people just don’t say in real life. guess if I listened to pop I’d get it. Watch this go to #1!

I got the beat
You got the melody
I got the song
You got the words to sing to me
I got the fire
You got the gasoline
I got the sky and
You got the wings
CHORUS
We've got the freedom of Adam and Eve
Got the Danger of Clyde and Bonnie
Got the passion of Johnny and June
That's me and you, girl
We're all but perfect like John and Jackie
Got that swagger like Jay Z & B
Got 'em talkin' like Kanye & Kim
We're all of them
Rolled into one perfectly made combination
Displayin' a love like the stars
I got the kiss
You got the midnight lips
I find my way
By constellations on your skin
I got the spotlight
You got the perfect script
What everybody's wantin'
Girl, you know we got it
CHORUS
We got the freedom
We got the danger
We got the passion
That's me and you, you
CHORUS
