About a woman who never gave up on me during my years of alcoholism and addiction.
I would like to know if listeners get the idea of what the song is about before I get specific in the second set of verses, and if the song works musically, lyrically, and delivers a good message effectively.
Thank you for the listen and your feedback Sam. This is an early stage song production-wise, and more guitar tracks and background vocals will be added…great suggestion.
Thank you for your kind words.

Great song Reid, love your voice. I would call this more country than rock, but I agree of the Eagles quality of the song and message, and the Eagles back in the 70’s was called rock but today the band would be considered country. I think a solo of some sort in the instrumental section would help out the song. Great job.

Hi Reid, the song has a nice flow. I agree with Sam and Allen, the song has an Eagles vibe and some harmonies will push it a lot.

Thank you for your listen and feedback. We have left an 8 bar section for a guitar solo and we are definitely going to add some background vocal harmonies.
Thank you Frank, I appreciate the feedback and listen, and we’ll definitely record some BGV’s and hopefully nail it like the Eagles always do..or even come somewhat close LOL.
Thanks again to both of you for your time and feedback.

Hey Reid. I agreed with everyone above. There is an Eagles flow that is kinda comforting. My problem is I’m deaf and maybe it’s the hour but I couldn’t find lyrics which made it hard. Are you the vocal? If so you have a really contemporary sound that’s lovely. I’m a fan.

Hi Laurie, Thank you for taking a listen and for your feedback. The “View Lyrics” button/link, is right below the picture of the man and woman embracing.
In this version of the song, I am not singing the vocals, Jonathan Hayes, an accomplished vocalist, arranger, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, recorded the vocals.

I think he has a great voice, and I connect with it emotionally when I hear him sing, and I feel myself “rooting for him,” to do whatever he’s trying to do in the song.
Thanks again Laurie!

Reid-Great job! Yeah, I love the Eagles too and this is right up that alley. (Am I wrong, or are those songs timeless?!) ![]()
I also hear maybe a light violin along with aforementioned harmonies. I think this song has AMAZING potential! ![]()

Hi Guy, LOL on your play on words at the end!
I love the Eagles and I agree, their songs are timeless. Thank you for the listen, your kind words, and harmonies and maybe a violin are coming right up.

I have to say, I really like this song. I think a lot of people would like it, it has a timeless quality and the subject matter is definitely heartfelt and something a lot of people can relate to. I agree, harmonies would really make this track, especially if they are gradual and really pick up the end. I heard the harmonies in my head BEFORE reading the other reviews. Harmonies would really give this song more height and depth and give it far more justice. Lovely song.

Hi Haydee, thank you for your listen, and for your very positive comments. Awesome that you are musical like that and could hear the harmonies in your head.
If you’d like to hear how well Jonathan Hayes arranges and sings BGV’s, give a listen to “The Worlds Not the Same,” which you have listened to and commented on, but listen specifically to what JH did with the BGV’s.
I was floored and so thrilled with what he did!
I seem to remember that you are in the LA area, is that true? Jonathan Hayes lives in Hollywood, my main bass player in Irvine, my producer and guitar ninja in Westminster.
We should connect on Skype, by phone, walkie talkies, or whatever, and nerd out on songwriting (got that from Brent). If you are in LA, and need some players to record or arrange tracks for you, I can intro you to my guys.
Sorry it took me almost a month to reply, but I never saw the notification.

It's Amazing to Me
It's amazing to see
that you still have love left for me
all the things that I've done
every sin under the sun
Walking the high wire,
over the fire
so blind I just couldn't see
Now I come back and stand
with my heart in my hand
Thank you for making a man out of me
It's amaaaaaaazing to me
that you're still my lover
there is no other
you came and you saved me
It's amazing to see
that you've still got love left for me
all the the things that I've done
every sin under the sun
Been here before
a revolving door
I seem to go round and round
you never stopped hoping
through the drinking and smoking
Praying that I would be found.
Repeat chorus
Bridge (Will have a guitar solo)
Repeat chorus 2x and outro

I like it. I got the idea from the start. Musically, adding Eagles type harmonies in the chorus would be worth a try. Good work and a positive message. An attitude of gratitude.
