A conversation between a guy whose girlfriend dumped him for another guy, but regrets her decision now, and wants to come back to him, saying that all of her bad behavior is in the past-it's "Water over the dam"- he's saying that it may be water over the dam, but it's a "Damn lot of water over a Big Damn Dam"

When you told me that you were leavin'
You went and found somebody new
I didn't find it hard in believing'
After all the hell you'd already put me through
Now you stand in front of me crying'
You say you made a big mistake
And you're apologizing' cause you're realizing' that your selfishness
is more than any man should have to take
I'm trying' hard to forgive you, but I don't think I can
'Cause it's a damn lot of water over a big damn dam.
It's pretty dope and so very appropriate you wanting' to meet me here-
In the daytime outside and in the public eye
You feel you've got nothin' to fear
Well 've never touched a woman in anger,
My daddy taught me better than that,
And you can be certain that as bad as I'm hurting' gonna keep those feelings under my hat
But I'm telling you to lose my number, and consider yourself shitcanned
Cause it's a damn lot of water over a big damn dam.
All the joy and the happiness in my soul
Has leaked on out of the great big hole
in my heart (my poor heart)
But my sadness and depression didn't turn into rage
Till I read the wicked things you said about me on your Facebook page.
Someone should turn you cross their knee and spank you
But darlin' you like that too much
So here's that box of your stuff and a thank you
For promising' me you're gonna keep out of touch
So let's just say our last good-byes
And wipe the tears from those bloodshot alcoholic eyes
of yours,
They say "to err is human, to forgive is divine"
And that was the original plan,
But it's a Damn Lot of Water
Over a Big Damn Dam
1you know it is!
