About This Song

This song is the part of a break up nobody ever talks about when you're still on the fence about what to do, stay or go type of thing...

I really like the melody and production here. I like the idea of “making the whiskey last” instead of just getting wasted to survive the breakup. Maybe could have belted out the chorus vocal a little more so I hear a difference from the verses. Nice work! Let’s write sometime!

I really like your song, Bill!  A song about straddling the line, is different, and I like the twist you gave it.  Great music and lyric!

Middle of Moving On

Written by Bill Roemer

Half way done with this glass whiskey
That’s the way I feel about her memory
Should I finish it or push it away
I guess at the end of the day

I’m stuck here in this Purgatory
Getting over her ain’t working for me
I tell myself I’m better off
At least that’s what i thought….

[Chorus]
I don’t wanna get too high
Or get to low
Somewhere in between holdin on
and letting you go
I don’t wanna
Dwell in past, or take the fast-track
I’m gonna make this whiskey last
When the wanting you back feelings come on strong
I’m in the Middle of Moving On

I never thought you’d ever really leave me
And I thought getting over you’d be easy
The more I try the harder it gets
Even though I want to, I can’t forget

[Chorus]

It’s always one last sip I try to stay real strong
I keep telling myself when I hit the bottom They’ll both be gone

[Chorus]
