Undearly Departed

Written by Dave Undis

Undearly Departed
by Dave Undis

VERSE
She told me I was all she ever wanted
On the night of our wedding day.
When I caught her cheating, she said she was leaving
And driving my pickup away.
I said if I was all you ever wanted
That’s a terrible thing to do.
She said I’d be hearing from her lawyer.
She wanted lots of other stuff too.

CHORUS
She took all she wanted and half of the rest
But my end of the deal was the best.
I kept half of what she never wanted
And she’s my undearly departed.
My life is restarted
And she’s my undearly departed.

VERSE
She said her fair share was all she ever wanted.
The judge said half of what I own would do.
He said I’d also have to pay her alimony
And rent her an apartment too.
He told her to pick half the furniture
And she took my favorite chair.
That was something she never wanted.
She never liked sitting there.

CHORUS
She took all she wanted and half of the rest
But my end of the deal was the best.
I kept half of what she never wanted
And she’s my undearly departed.
My life is restarted
And she’s my undearly departed.

BRIDGE
They talk about 20-20 hindsight.
I see she turned out to be right
When she said I’d give her all she ever wanted
On the day of our wedding night.

CHORUS
She took all she wanted and half of the rest
But my end of the deal was the best.
I kept half of what she never wanted
And she’s my undearly departed.
My life is restarted
And she’s my undearly departed.

OUT
And I can’t wait to get started
Finding my next undearly departed.
