Kay and Chris, I love the title! It’s one of those titles that catches the eye.
I really like the storyline, message and it doesn’t end on a bad note either. The melody is comforting and makes me think.
I would have liked to hear a little more contrast between the verses and the chorus. The melody is very similar throughout the whole song. The chord structures are the same as well.
Thank you for sharing your song. I enjoyed the listens.

Thank you, Glenn!! I appreciates you taking the time to think about it. Great feedback and gives us food for thought. I broke my foot but I’m trying to make sense of things and listen to as many songs as I. Blessing is I have more writing time! There’s a song in misfortune:)

Very beautiful song! I would agree with the other post about the contrast between the verses and choruses, there are repetitive phrases in-between the storyline that are acting like choruses, but its not definite, and the melody doesn’t change.
I guess I was confused at the age of the person the song is about…with the repeated use of the word ‘girl’ and “baby” it makes me think its someone very young…and the first line had me thinking it was a baby….but then in the 3rd verse (or second, if the second line is actually the chorus) the person speaks, which then I realize the person is old enough to speak but cant be a baby.
I like the gist of the song and its very powerful! Lyrics confused me a bit, but its very nice and uplifting!

Hi Sandra. I wrote you back on email as I don’t like to take advantage of my singer’s fame and mention his name on these posts. But thank you so much for your response and I hope you get my full message I sent to you on email. I was just thinking I probably should have proof read. Darn, I’m bad at that! Blessing and talk again. I’ll look at your songs - I broke my foot and nothing’s easy this week:)

You’re Good to Go
Sleepin’ like an angel on a cloud of soft curls
Honey, you’re the cherry on the top of my world
You’re a sunbeam in this stark hospital light
A twenty-carat diamond couldn’t shine as bright
You’re good to go girl if this is your time
Know I feel you crossing the line
You and me baby, we rocked this show
Your blue eyes flutter, ‘n you’re good -
To go, girl if this is your time
Know I’ll feel you crossing the line
Doc says there’s nothing left that we can do
I hear a whisper, “Take me home to be with you.”
With a lot of help and a gentle ride
I’ll stay next to you, I’ll be right here by your side
When you’re good to go girl if this is your time
You found your peace, you gave me mine
The curtain’s closing, but baby what a show
Your eyes softly flutter, ‘n you’re good -
To go, girl if this is your time
You found your peace, you gave me mine
Now you’re good to go girl if this is your time
You take a deep breath, there’s a hint of a smile
‘Cause you and me baby, we rocked this show
It’s ok, my darling, now you’re good to go
