Verse 1
All my life I heard about true love
It all seemed sort of screwed up
But life went on and I grew up
And now I know what it’s like to fall in love
Chorus
You’re my only fish in the sea
Please don’t swim away from me
The currents are raging yes I know
Please oh please don’t let me go
Cuz you’re my only, fish in the sea
Verse 2
Now my head is in a tail spin
I feel like I’m caved in
But I’ll just keep on rollin
Rollin straight to your arms
Chorus
You’re my only fish in the sea
Please don’t swim away from me
The currents are raging yes I know
Please oh please don’t let me go
Cuz you’re my only, fish in the sea
Bridge
Sea……
Sea……
Sea……
Sea……
Ending
You’re my only fish in the sea
Please don’t swim away from me
You’re my only fish in the sea
Please don’t swim away from me
The currents are raging yes I know
Please oh please don’t let me go
Cuz you’re my only, fish in the sea
Fish in the sea

Hey, Rebekah! Thanks for sharing your song with us! I like the thought of “you’re my only fish in the sea.” I like that you don’t overdo the “fish” imagery/lines. That could’ve made it more of a novelty song than you wanted.
The chorus is important real estate, so you have to be extra careful what you say there. In this one, you mention how the current is raging. But you don’t follow up on that thought. In what ways is it raging? Other people hitting on your guy? Do you fight now and then? Is like throwing you both curve balls? I want to hear more about that- so set up some tension - so I feel more when you say “don’t swim away from me” because I get more of a sense that he might.
I dig the vibe, I dig the title. Nice work!
