Album Trends: This was a pretty closed project. There are only two writers besides Olivia and her producer on two tracks. The album has a mix of early pop punk vibes as well as ballads. The topics range from self doubt, to unsuccessful relationships, to fun kitschy bops. Olivia’s album is suited very well for her target audience of teenage and young adult women. This album contains more mature topics than her previous and I feel like this trend will continue to be fleshed out in her future projects.

Subject: In this song Olivia calls out American beauty standards. She says that she is all of the things a girl should be, mocking the standards while also expressing women’s pressure to live up to them.
Music: Song begins very simply with Olivia singing accompanied by acoustic guitar. The chorus comes in with electric guitar and drums that emulate early 2000s pop punk. The verses and choruses switch off between these two vibes.
Notes: The contrast between the different parts of the song are crazy!
