Album: Born Here Live Here Die Here
Released: August 7th, 2020
Produced By: Jeff Stevens, Jody Stevens

1. Knockin’ Boots
Writers: Gordie Sampson, Hillary Lindsey, Jon Nite
Key: A
Tempo: 132 BPM
Subject: Names things that need each other to compare to boots that need knockin’. Feel good love making song. Lots of alcohol and weekend references.
Music: Pop country, Guitars have the melodic motif
Notes: The back ground vocal and delay on Luke’s voice make the vocal chain really sound new/old school to me.

2. What She Wants Tonight
Writers: Hillary Lindsey, Jon Nite, Luke Bryan, Ross Copperman
Key: G#m
Tempo: 85 BPM
Subject: About a beautiful girl who gets everything she wants, and he's thankful that he is what she wants tonight.
Music: Pop country, more driven guitars but synths make it poppy, Chorus is pretty rocking
Notes: Lyrics are very simple and match syllables line by line

3. Born Here Live Here Die Here
Writers: Jake Mitchell, Jameson Rodgers, Josh Thompson
Key: D
Tempo: 66 BPM
Subject: Reminiscent song about home, deep roots song, staying where you’re from until you die.
Music: 90s country feel, Goes into double time and back twice
Notes: Steel guitar along with acoustic drum set and not much pop influence make this song about reminiscing hit harder with the throwback in production.

4. One Margarita
Writers: Josh Thompson, Matt Dragstrem, Michael Carter
Key: A
Tempo: 90 BPM
Subject: Beach drinking song. Forget your worries and have fun drinking margaritas.
Music: Pop country, Beachy sounding organ
Notes: Simple melody very memorable, There is a vocal singing an octave below Luke that adds a lot

5. Too Drunk To Drive
Writers: Brandon Kinney, Luke Bryan, Michael Carter
Key: F#
Tempo: 111 BPM
Subject: The drunk feeling that love brings without any alcohol or drugs.
Music: Early 2000s country, low tuned guitars
Notes: Reminds me of “Shake the Sand” from one of Luke's Spring Break albums.

6. Build Me A Daddy
Writers: Brett Tyler, Jake Mitchell, Josh Thompson
Key: D
Tempo: 75 BPM
Subject: Perspective of boy who lost his father in the military. Takes picture of dad to carpenter at toy shop, asks to build him a father because he misses him, and it would make mom happy,
Music: Slow laid back music, drums stay out until second verse, snare only hits on the 4
Notes: Very ambient pads on a synth and clean guitar picking mixed with strings make song sweet

7. Little Less Broken
Writers: Lindsay Rimes, Matt Rogers, Michael Carter
Key: F#
Tempo: 108
Subject: Seeing an ex at a bar having a good time and you’re still not over her. Someone always takes breakups harder than the other. Not ready to see exes happy.
Music: 1625 chord progression with 4 to 4m accompanied by strings gives an old school feel
Notes: This song sounds like Luke Bryan doing his Midland impression

8. For A Boat
Writers: Randy Montana, Josh Thompson, Mike Walker
Key: C#
Tempo: 136 BPM
Subject: About being content with what you have. You learn a lot from learning to be content.
Music: Train beat up tempo, modern sounding guitars
Notes: This is Luke Bryan doing his Im a lucky country boy thing that has made him so successful.

9.Where Are We Goin’
Writers: Brent Cobb, Luke Bryan
Key: G
Tempo: 108
Subject: The always present question of what’s next, with friends after the bar closes where are we going, with relationships where are we going.
Music: 4 on the floor, acoustic finger picking pattern,
Notes: Feels like a lets live while were still young kind of song

10. Down To One

Key: G#
Tempo: 94 BPM
Subject: Song about falling in love. Plays with all of the 1 play on words: One hand, one song, one smile, one in the morning.
Music: Pop
Notes: All of the things that go down to one when you’re in a relationship make this song possible.
