  1. The night is __________.
    – a beacon of light for all to see.
    – a time to celebrate the day, that was.
    – a sky blanket for the stars.
    – a time to play after a hard-working day.
    – Cold with snow on the ground
Our crackling fire is the only sound
We have wine and candle light
Just you and I and the long winter night…

  2. The night is …
    lit up with dancing fireflies
    as quiet as the moon
filled with laughing children playing tag in the moonlight
a canvas painted with wished upon stars
dancing with the moonlight on an Arkansas waterfall

  3. Night is here again
The tide has washed away the sand
    Erasing the day
    Revealing tomorrow’s blank page
Awaiting the stroke of my pen
    Night is here again

  4. The night is __________;

    – naught when we do opposite of what we were taught
    – the coldest part of the day as there is little warmth when the sun is away
    – always over half of the earth, they are longest North of Juno, South of Perth
    – often mentioned in lyrics of songs, and sometimes yearned for all day long
    – when most recoup from work, unless our boss is a workaholic watchless jerk

  5. The night is…….

never-ending, as a racing mind’s wheels fail to slow. It then cowardly disappears into a sunny morning while the alarm clock screams, ” Let’s Go!”.

      1. Ha! -There once was one who noticed the name just south of Perth. But to bring reason to the rhyme on this blog Tommy, you are the first. Nice job on wordplay Tommy! G’EYE, & G’Day Mate!

  6. The nIght is dark, the absence of light
My life is night, with you out of sight
… a quiet pause to remember the day
    … the pause before tomorrow
… a dark curtain to end this day

  7. The night is thick and all around, with hazy beams of white moon dance bumping twinkle out of stars, falling on a silence of sound.

The night is the stench of beer, old food, and trash on an abandoned party street. Where the borderless dark settles in to cover up the ugly, and bring on dreams of better things.

The night is uneasy and makes the frightened hurry home. It calls out to the evil in a man and creates shadows lurking ’round that no one seems to know.

The night is very heavy and weighing me down. As the clock chimes 3am, gravity pulls me tighter to the ground.

The night is the blackest blue color, turning even darker just before dawn. It’s all over like wet, smeared ink from a leaky pen, then lays in hiding beyond the new morning’s yellow sun.

  8. is where one can be….alone…with one’s own thoughts…

is when I’ll dream…once again…of that huge black velvet cloak draped over the shoulders of my little home town…that I had long left so many years ago….with it’s continuous twinkling of falling stars….placing me right back in time… to those magical summers of my youth.

is a place of solitude & comfort…with porch, rocking chair, the quiet & continuous sound of crickets in the background complete with the vast beauty of an enormous purple sky to feast your eyes upon…

is when the fugitive continues his perilous journey into the abyss of a cold dark unknown…
