Wordplay Thursday #123

Wordplay Thursday

Welcome to Wordplay Thursday!

Here’s a writing prompt for you. It’s a simple fill-in-the-blank. You can use one word or several. Feel free to get as crazy, genre-appropriate, or as imaginative as you want. The point is to get the creative juices flowing. And it’s a good thing to dig deeper, so don’t stop at the first idea that hits you. Try coming up with at least five things.

“Their New Year’s kiss felt _____.”

I’ll give you an example to get you started:

“Their New Year’s kiss felt as soft as the confetti falling around them.”

I’d love to hear what you come up with, so please share in the comments. Oh, and please keep your posts below an R-rating. It’s a family show, after all!

And thanks to Debbie Davidson, McDonough, Ken Matthiesen, Nick S., kimbergirl29, Kris Rogge Fisher, Andrew, Shawn Van Namen, Jerry Childers, Linda Keser, Bill and everyone else who played along here or on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for your great additions to Wordplay Thursday #122 (read it here)! Great job!

  3. “Their New Year’s kiss felt _____.”
-cheap, like the Dollar Store hats they wore.
-too short, he hoped to have it last all night.
-too good to be just friends.
-.as captivating as the midnight air…full of future.
-perfect for the magical year together.

  4. First time trying this:

  5. Their New Year’s kiss felt like…….
    ….I don’r know, because THEY’RE kissing each other, not me. ; )

….those emotions of mine that I have learnt to control through the love and aid of the Holy Spirit. ; )
….mixture of sting and softness that enkindles my heart to passion a song.

    like a bite from a drunken alligator…

like someone with an aim so bad…they couldn’t hit the side of a barn door.

non obtrusive, sweet & to the point…

  10. I’m good with a melody and not so much with lyrics. First timer here too and I think I broke the rules on the first line! Oops! Here are my two attempts. Cheers!

    Their New year’s kiss
    She wished to retract
As soon as it was given
    Impulsive, jealous motivation
It was not that she was driven

Their New Years Kiss felt lacking
As soon as it was wasted
    Neither one embracing it
    So bittersweet it tasted
